Maker Spotlight: Cara Carmina
Norma Andreu has been drawn to the street art scene ever since she organized a mural festival in Mexico in 2015. She finally got the opportunity to create one of her own after visiting Rome in 2016. Inspired by the Italian culture and language, Andreu began posting her collages of vintage photography and illustration under the pseudonym Cara Carmina.
Andreu creates collages using found photography, her personal illustrations and the slang of the language she is currently working in. Her whimsical pieces provide viewers with a glimpse of the past while learning more about the culture that Andreu’s art is founded in.
Cara Carmina can be found on the streets of Rome, Montréal and Reykjavik.
